What if connection begins with discomfort? And what happens when you don’t avoid that discomfort, but invite it instead? Connection sounds obvious, but it isn’t. You have to want it, dare it, do it. It requires attention. Presence.

In the exhibition ‘From the Soul to the Soil’, four artists show how vulnerability can give rise to new forms of closeness. Working with photography, video, textiles, poetry and performance, they place the body at the centre of exploring connection: with ourselves, the earth and each other.

The artists explore the frayed edges of being human. They look beyond the surface, embrace discomfort and open up to new conversations and forms of togetherness.

Hystera | Tessa van den Eeden
A fusion of costume, artwork, and performance, in which Tessa explores her intimate relationship with the menstrual cycle. It reflects the tension between vulnerability and strength while at the same time confronting the learned shame around monthly bleeding.

Diewke starts with the recognition that the body of the glacier is not separate from her own. The meltwater, the seed, the hormone, the cycle of thaw and freeze are her cycles.

What If We Become Everything | Bibi-Joan feat. Onno
This art project is a collaboration between artist Bibi-Joan and poet Onno. Through nude self-portraits and poetic streams of words and images, Bibi-Joan and Onno created a dialogue that opens a space for intuition, play, and vulnerability.
